If there is someone who is green and doesn’t like Christmas? It’s The Grinch!
This green, hairy, pot-bellied, pear-shaped creature with a cat-like face was created by children’s author Dr. Seuss. He is the main character of the 1957 children’s book How the Grinch Stole Christmas!.
The Grinch is famous for being grumpy. He lives alone with his dog named Max near the town of Whoville.
The Grinch especially hates the Christmas season. So, one day, right before Christmas, he decides to destroy it once and for all. He sneaks into the town and steals all their things.
But the next day, he still hears the people laughing and having fun. This incident makes him realize that Christmas is about sharing and love, not gifts. So he returns the gifts and spends the holiday with them.
Today, the Grinch represents people who do not like the joys of Christmas.
