English author A. A. Milne created Winnie-the-Pooh, also knows as Pooh Bear. The character got his name after a teddy bear owned by the author’s son, Christopher Robin Milne. Christopher was very fond of the zoo, where he often saw a Canadian black bear called Winnie. Pooh was the name of the swan he had met while on holiday.
